We've planted plenty of fun vegetables and herbs in our garden this year, but mostly chili peppers, with PLENTY of jalapeno pepper plants. Can't wait! Onto the newsletter!

New Jalapeno Recipes! We're always cooking new jalapeno pepper-themed recipes! We're doing a bit of rearranging of the jalapeno pepper recipes page, so be sure to check it out. Chickpeas with Roasted Jalapenos and Red Pepper Flakes I incorporated the pungent Turkish pepper flakes, Maras Biber, into this chickpea side dish recipe. It is highly flavorful and the bright red color will make any dish pop. |
New Blog Posts It’s that time of year! We hope your chili pepper garden has been planted outside and are taking proper root. Pretty much no matter where you live in the US, you should have already started your chili peppers from seeds unless you’ll be buying seedlings for your garden. We are in the Chicago area (zone 5) and have our chili pepper plants transplanted. We’re growing about a dozen types again this year. Spicy Mustard Rubbed Pork Chops – Memorial Day Grilling We’ll be celebrating this Memorial Day with our neighborhood with some very traditional grilling – burgers, brats, chicken, pork chops, while remembering all of those soldiers who have fallen in service to our country. I personally have many family members, friends and neighbors who have served, and I would like to thank them all. El Diablo Hot and Spicy Mustards New product alert! I recently received a pack of mustards that are new on the market, and they’re just in time for summer. I’ve had several days to test them out and I’m very happy with the flavors. The product is El Diablo Hot & Spicy Mustard, and they offer 6 different flavors of mustard, which I’ve listed below. The flavors they’ve chosen make each mustard unique, and I’m sure you’ll fine one that you prefer. These will work as table mustard for anything you like to slather mustard over, such as the typical summer grilling fare – burgers, brats, pork – but with flavors like these, you can also incorporate them into other recipes for an additional flavor profile. Caribbean Style Chicken with Habanero Sauce I recently received a couple of different chile extractions from David Rosengarten Gastronomic Selections and was able to sample them. Like most, I enjoy dashing hot sauces over finished foods as a finisher and extra source of heat, but I also like to cook them into specific foods.
