Margarita with a Kick
We’re playing with spicy drink recipes this month, and we’re starting off with a traditional margarita recipe, but adding in some fun spiciness. Traditional margaritas incorporate lime juice and tequila, and we’re happy to oblige, but when you bring in a splash of hot sauce, you’ve got a winner. For this recipe, we’re using “Frostbite” from CaJohns.com. It’s one of the rarer white hot sauces so you won’t notice any color variations in your drink, but feel free to experiment. This is a simple recipe, and that’s a good thing!
Ingredients
- 1 ounce Tequila
- ½ ounce orange liqueur
- 4 ½ ounces margarita mix
- Juice from ½ fresh lime
- 2 healthy dashes of hot sauce
- Salt for the rim
- Lime wedges for garnishing
- Ice
Mixing Directions
- Mix the first 5 ingredients together in a martini shaker. Add ice and mix well.
- Salt the rim of your margarita glass.
- Pour in your spicy margarita and garnish with lime!
- Enjoy!
